Hillsmere PTA is dedicated to equity and diversity, both in our school and the school district at large. To that end, our PTA Board includes a Vice President of Equity and Diversity. The person in this role organizes cultural events and educational opportunities for students and staff, such as activities during “recognition” months (for example, Black History and Women’s History months). The Vice President of Equity and Diversity also manages and/or requests funds dedicated to equalizing student experiences and family involvement opportunities, such as providing transportation to events for families who otherwise would be unable to attend (like Back to School Night) and free family holiday gifts at the annual Holiday Bazaar.
